The Cheapest Countries For A Vacation

A s mankind slowly ventures outside the COVID prison after a good year and a half, things are reopening slowly, and new opportunities are more attractive than they’ve ever been. With the toll this pandemic has taken on us, everyone needs a break.

However, travel isn’t cheap, not to the well-known places anyways. So why not venture into the unknown and go places just as unique but less famous? The most affordable countries for a vacation are also arguably some of the best and most exciting places to be in, so why not take the chance? Here are some of the cheapest countries you can take a vacation in.

Romania

If you’re looking for a quiet refuge among people, Romania might be the place for you. Dotted with medieval towns, towering churches, and fortified castles, Romania looks like a fairytale country in the 21st century. The Transylvania region, the fabled home to Count Dracula, is where you’ll find small, charming towns. On the other hand, the Carpathian Mountain Range is home to Romania’s old-growth forests thriving unchanged from the Ice Age. The most famous of these forests is the Hoia Forest, a paranormal attraction to many and an excellent place for hiking. If you’re more of a sea person, The Black Sea coast boasts nearly twenty seaside resorts with low prices to seek refuge in for a week or two. All in all, Romania has a little bit of everything, all for under $50 a day, making it the place to be.

Laos

Are you looking to explore more of the great outdoors? Laos is the place for you. Laos is sparsely populated with almost 70% forest coverage, colossal mountain ranges, and a great climate, making it the dream vacation spot if you’re someone who loves hiking, trekking, climbing, kayaking, or even hot-air ballooning. All of these activities are priced under $15 each, too! Over the years, Laos has improved its central infrastructure, making it a lot more accessible and easier to stay in for the milder explorer, making it the ideal getaway spot for the summers when you’re craving action.

Philippines

The Philippines is perfect for someone looking to chill by the sea with over 7000 picturesque islands to explore and relax in. With some of the most perfect and peaceful beaches, this is the place for a quiet retrieve. Other than its near-perfect coastline attractions, it is also a fascinating place to explore the culture. It’s fascinating to explore the mix of Asian and Spanish colonial influences on the culture, especially agricultural landscapes and architecture. The Palawan island has gotten more attention recently, and rightly so, but one must not ignore the Central Visayas or the Batanes Province with its stunning scenery, beaches, and remote villages. You can explore the entirety of the Philippines for under $60 a day per person if you’re staying at relatively more comfortable Airbnbs and hotels. If backpacking is more your style, you can easily cut the cost by a good $20 and get by with $40 a day.

Turkey

A cultural hub at its finest, Turkey is the place to be for anyone looking to explore stunning architectural masterpieces like the much famed Blue Mosque. With bustling bazaars, colorful buildings, cave cities, and even Roman ruins, Turkey will take your breath away and leave you wanting to stay forever. Not to mention, the cuisine is exquisite. It is surprisingly cheap to explore, costing the average tourist about $50 a day and a backpacking traveler, not more than $35 a day.

Bolivia

For anyone accustomed to a bit more luxury, Bolivia might not be the place for you. With a simple life and cheap hotels, Bolivia is more famous for its sights than the comforts. From Titicaca, the world’s highest lake, to the ethereal salt flats of Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia is going to be the country that satiates your hunger for exotic travel. With a quiet, remote location, incredible sights, and a daily routine that brings you closer to life’s true simplicities, it’s no wonder Bolivia ranks as one of the cheapest countries for a vacation.

These places are easily one of the best countries to have a vacation in due to their inexpensive nature, gorgeous sights, and stunning culture and city life. Good luck with your vacation!
