How to Use Mass Marketing Emails for Better Marketing

Here are important tips you need to make sure your emails do not end up in spam.

Ask Permission to Send Emails

Imposing emails can be a big deal breaker.

The recipient must know that they are in control. You do this by making sure the recipient accepts your request to send them emails. You also need to make sure you add a prominent unsubscribe button so that the recipient does not feel trapped and annoyed when they can’t stop getting emails from a service provider they may not want. This is not just a formality but it is complying with the CAN-SPAM Act.

You can also ask the recipient to whitelist your emails. This is when the recipient adds your email to an approved sender’s list. When this happens you can be certain your emails will never end up in the spam folder.

Pro Tip: Make sure the unsubscribe button is at the bottom, so that the reader does not accidentally unsubscribe or unsubscribe without reading.

Email Formatting

Make sure your emails are proofread, well-written, and have a human touch. If they sound like they were written in a rush or by a computer, they will be sent to the spam folder. You need to be mindful of typos and grammatical errors. Any email riddled with errors will be sent to the spam folder. To further make sure your email format is such that it would not be sent to spam is to send your email to be proofread by programs that will send it through the spam filters your email will face and make sure everything is perfect

Keywords to Avoid

You should also know of a few keywords to avoid. These are spam trigger words such as including words like ‘discount’ or mentions money or excessive use of exclamation marks. However, this does not mean you can not discuss these things, you just need to be careful when talking about these topics.

Sender’s Address

It will also show you how likely it is that your email will be sent to spam. Make sure your sender’s address is clear. If it is full of incoherent words and random letters then it will most likely be flagged as spam. You should stick to your company name or your own name and make sure your email address makes sense and is readable.

Honesty is the Best Policy

You also need to make sure you are honest in your email and not being deceptive. Again, this is not a formality, this is to make sure you are complying with the CAN-SPAM Act. Above that, if you trick people into reading your emails it just creates distrust and is generally bad marketing.

Who to Send It To

Another thing you need to make sure not to overlook is who you send your emails to. We’ve already mentioned that the recipient's permission is important. Along with this, however, you need to make sure the emails you send to are active and not dead accounts. One of the filters sees how many dead accounts you are sending to. If the number is too high it will likely be flagged as spam. If a small number of your subscribers do not open your email it is better to just take them off your list so that your chances of being sent to spam becomes less.

However, this only works if the number of unresponsive subscribers is low. If the overall rate is very low then the problem may just be in your marketing strategies. You also need to make sure you regularly send emails to your list. If you only send emails once a month or even less then the recipient may forget about you and not recognize your email and mark your emails as spam.

Hopefully, this brought insight into how to properly send mass marketing emails. As you can see, it’s not that complicated and you can very easily utilize mass marketing emails.
